Mindfully FIT Schools

Our Mission

Mindfully FIT Schools empowers students of all ages with practical tools that support mental and emotional wellbeing. We are committed to helping students adopt healthy mind and body habits to increase well being and reduce stress.  

What is Mindfully FIT Schools?

Childhood is changing. The modern child can experience stress from many areas.  Academic pressure, participation in competitive sports, and the presence of online cultures to name a few. Stress can have a negative impact on a child’s health and well-being. Mindfulness can help students experience calm and “unplug” from their busy lives.

Mindful Practices

Mindfully FIT Schools is a wellness program for school-aged children that helps students develop positive mental, emotional and physical habits. As part of the Mindfully FIT Schools program, students will learn about self-awareness, self-esteem, self-regulation and resilience. We focus on mindful practices such as attention to breath and sound meditation as pathways to cultivating strong emotional intelligence and a positive mindset. 


Mindfully FIT Schools programs provides opportunities for students to experience relaxation, which leads to stress reduction, and a more positive school culture.


The Details

Classes are designed to fit your school’s schedule:

  • Classes can be offered can be modified to take place in 30-60 minute sessions in order to meet the needs of your school schedule. 

  • We offer 4,6 or 8 week packages as well as a one time workshops.

    - All classes are taught by Tanya Robertson, an OCT certified teacher. 

  • The program is in alignment with the Ontario Curriculum for Health and Physical Education.



As a teacher with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board, I have an in-depth understanding of how difficult it can be to find balance as a teacher. I developed Mindfully FIT, Physically FIT and Nutritionally FIT because I believe being healthy involves a holistic healing approach which combines physical activity, proper nutrition, and mindfulness.. It's about moving your body, providing it with the right nutrition, and getting your mind to work for you, not against you.
