Personal Training

A personal trainer is someone who motivates, keeps you accountable, ensures results and is your support system when it comes to maintaining healthy habits. Most of us work harder in the presence of others. Having a trainer by your side can provide the encouragement, energy and motivation you need to jumpstart your routine and to stick with it. It’s a lot harder to skip the gym when you know someone is waiting for you!

When it comes to fitness, everyone is different, and a holistic approach is needed. Your unique body mechanics, experience, goals, fitness level, injuries, lifestyle, likes and dislikes all factor into the creation of a training plan that is specific to your needs. An experienced personal trainer will do an assessment, will get to know you and will work collaboratively on a flexible strategy that helps you attain your goals. With a program that fits, you are more likely to maintain the habit and see results.

A trainer will help you set goals, create a plan to accomplish them and celebrate with you when you reach them…and will encourage you to continue to reach higher.

Hiring a personal fitness trainer might seem like a luxury if you are on a tight budget, but if you really want to get the most out of your workouts, a trainer is a great investment. The improvement in your health and fitness levels are priceless when looking at the long-term positive effects on quality of life.

Options for Personal Training are:

Online

Work out in the comfort of your own home or home gym with a remote trainer. This is a very interactive and “hands on” approach to personal training during a time when getting together physically may not be ideal. We will log into a two-way video conference at the scheduled time and work with the equipment you have available in your space.

Outdoors

If you are more of an outdoor adventurer, training in the open air is for you. This type of personal training is perfect for those of us who would rather spend time outdoors than on a treadmill or inside a room full of equipment.  We make the most out of equipment that you can find in your natural environment, such as benches, curbs, walls and stairs. We may also bring along some smaller props like a skipping rope or theraband, or even decide that a (snowshoe) hill drill in the forest is the workout of the week. I train clients all year round and am flexible with locations throughout the city.

Many people find the gym uncomfortable and getting there can be a hassle. I can come right to your house to give you a personalized fitness experience. We will work with equipment you may already have, combined with items that I can easily bring along.
